Lessons Feature

The Lessons feature within eduSYMS is an integral component of the Manage Class menu, designed to streamline and enrich the educational experience for both educators and students. It facilitates the creation, management, and participation in class lessons, encompassing a range of interactive and supportive resources.

For Educators:

Accessing the Lessons Feature:

  1. Log in to your eduSYMS account and navigate to the Manage Class menu.
  2. Select the desired class and click on the ‘Lessons’ tab to view the class timetable and associated lesson plans.

Creating a Lesson Plan:

  1. Click on ‘Add a lesson item’ to include new material.
  2. Choose the item type (e.g., Link, PDF Document, MS Word Document, etc.).
  3. Provide a title, and description, and upload the file or paste the link.
  4. Save the lesson plan, which will then appear on the class timetable. 

Editing Lesson Details:

  1. To modify existing lesson plans, click on the ‘Edit Lesson Info’.
  2. Here you can update the lesson title, description, and the online lesson/meeting link if applicable.
  3. Post any changes, which will be reflected immediately in the class timetable.

Reviewing Lesson Completion/Assignments:

  1. Educators can review assignments submitted by students.
  2. Provide feedback and remarks, and mark the lesson as completed.
  3. You may also upload a reviewed (marked) file with annotations or corrections.

Interacting with Students:

  1. Utilise the Q&A feature to answer student queries regarding lessons.
  2. Confirm attendance and participation, ensuring an interactive learning process.

For Students: Accessing Lessons:

  1. From the Student Portal, navigate to the ‘Lessons’ tab on your profile.
  2. View the class timetable to see scheduled lessons, including the subject and lesson number.

Participating in Lessons:

  1. Click on a lesson to view detailed lesson plans and resources provided by the educator.
  2. Access and download lesson materials such as documents, slides, and worksheets.
  3. Join online lessons through the provided meeting links.

Submitting Assignments:

  1. Upload assignments directly through the lesson interface.
  2. Track submission status and await feedback from educators.

Seeking Help and Clarifications:

  1. Use the Q&A section to ask questions related to the lesson.
  2. Check the lesson as attended/completed once you’ve participated and reviewed all materials.

Best Practices:

  • For Educators: Regularly update the lesson content and be responsive to student inquiries to encourage active learning.
  • For Students: Regularly review lesson materials and participate in discussions to maximise learning outcomes.
